How to Clean and Care for Lab-Grown Diamond Jewelry

Everyday care
Lab-grown diamonds share the fundamental material properties of natural diamonds, but settings still need care. Lotions, oils, and soap can dull a stone's appearance. Handle jewelry gently and avoid impact.
Gentle cleaning
- Mix a little mild dish soap with lukewarm water.
- Soak briefly only if the design and all materials are suitable.
- Gently brush around the stone and setting with a soft, clean brush.
- Rinse over a bowl, not an open drain, and dry with a lint-free cloth.
Do not use this method for every piece. Pearls, opals, glued components, delicate finishes, and other materials may need special care. Ask a jeweler if unsure.
What to avoid
Avoid bleach, harsh household chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and unverified solutions. Ultrasonic and steam cleaners can loosen settings or harm some components; use them only when a qualified jeweler confirms they are suitable.
Storage and inspections
Store pieces separately in soft pouches or lined compartments. Inspect prongs, clasps, and connections for looseness or damage. If a stone moves or a clasp fails to close securely, stop wearing the piece and have it checked by a jeweler.
Care for 14K gold
14K yellow, white, and rose gold benefit from gentle cleaning and careful storage. Finishes and plating, where present, may need different care. Follow product-specific instructions.
